SmartBank Cashbook Manager

Prepare a bank statement for SmartBank

Start with the right file and a clearly identified account and statement period.

  1. Get the original file

Sign in through your bank’s own website or app and find its statement or transaction download area. Download the original PDF or an available CSV, OFX or OFC file. Menu names and formats vary by bank and account.

  2. Check the account and dates

Confirm that the file covers the account and period you intend to process. Keep opening and closing balances available for your reconciliation. Check overlapping download periods before importing a batch.

  3. Check the PDF type

Use the original bank-issued PDF. A scan, screenshot or photograph saved as PDF is not a supported original. Password-protected originals are supported where the bank layout is compatible.

  4. Import and review

Open the correct SmartBank company and bank account. Import the file, then compare the transaction count where available, dates and amounts against the statement. Investigate differences before exporting.

If a statement will not import

Tell SmartBank the bank name, personal/business account type, file format, period and exact message you see. Ask the team how to share a sample securely if one is required. Compatibility depends on the bank layout.
